Dr Peter Kissel
Dr. Kissel is dedicated to treating athletes. While completing an honors kinesiolgoy degree from the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Kissel realized that from a lifetime commited to sports, working with athletes was his ultimate goal leading first to CMCC to obtain a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and finally to pursue a sports specialty in the division of research and graduate studies, culminating in obtaining a fellowship status with the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences in 2011. This postgraduate education provided valuable learning experiences specific to athletics and the opportunity to be published as part of course requirements. Dr. Kissel’s vision in creating The Proactive Athlete is now being realized as a place where athletes of all levels can have trust in sports specialists for the best possible care regardless of competitive level. His belief that every athlete deserves the best possible care is illustrated through involvement as team doctor for numerous sports at the grassroots level including 7 years of Provincial Junior A hockey coverage, and at the National and International stage including the PanAm Games with the National indoor Field Hockey Team. Dr. Kissel truly believes in continuing education to become a better practitioner, and continues academic pursuits as a lecturer and lab instructor in Orthopaedics, and as a Resource Clinician for 4th year interns at the Chiropractic College.
