While earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic medicine (DC) at New York Chiropractic College, Dr. Zappy became president of the Sports Science and Human Performance club (SSHP), leading representative for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), and with the help of former Los Angeles Clippers Chiropractor ('06-'09) and current Arizona Diamondbacks Consultant, Dr. Craig Liebenson, started his own program at NYCC called Rehab to Performance (R2P). The R2P is a program built to teach students many of the techniques and assessment methods Dr. Zappy learned from educational seminars outside of the NYCC curriculum including; fascial release, functional movement assessments, rehabilitative exercises, neuromuscular re-education techniques, performance enhancement, and biomechanical evaluations. The R2P program helps bridge the gap from Rehab to Performance training. In addition to the doctorate and extra-curricular activities, Dr. Zappy also obtained a Master’s Degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition (MSACN). The program tought him that the best nutrition comes from whole food organic sources. While we take a "first from food" approach at The Wellness Center, we also offer whole food organic supplements. The education in Chiropractic Medicine, Physical Therapy, and Nutritional Counseling allow for a well-rounded experience at The Wellness Center. Our office is located in Downingtown PA. Dr. Zappy’s experience treating various conditions comes from his internships while attending school at NYCC. He volunteered at a community service clinic in Rochester, NY called the Mercy Outreach Center, a hospital in Rochester, NY called Monroe, a Veterans Administration Medical Clinic in Bath, NY, and the St. John Fisher College’s Wellness Center.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I bring a unique style to Chiropractic care. We perform a full comprehensive examination to determine a diagnosis. Then we determine the most optimal treatment to limit patient visits to the minimal amount necessary for recovery. We do not encourage long term management plans.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
Chiropractic manual manipulations, Active Release, and Physiotherapy.
What are you proud of in your practice?
We are proud to minimize office visits to an average of 4 visits per patient with complete resolution of their condition.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
We enjoy working with Sports related injuries. Being able to get someone back into their career or recreational sport as fast as possible while avoiding surgical options that may be career ending is very rewarding to us as providers. We feel that we can change a persons life by keeping them active in their sport.
