Margaret Powell DC, MA, Dipl Ac, IFMCP
After completing undergraduate studies in inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses in South Africa, Dr. Powell studied chiropractic, physiotherapy and acupuncture at Palmer College. Courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. Post graduate work includes Diplomate studies in Chiropractic Orthopedic from the University of Health Sciences in L.A., a Masters of Arts from Arizona State University and a Diplomate in Acupuncture from the Shanghai Research Institute of Acupuncture. She holds advanced certification in Cervical Spine Trauma. Dr. Powell has pursued a career-long involvement in Nutritional Biochemisty, and has been a regular attendee of the Institute of Functional Medicine Symposia and is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. Dr. Powell maintains a rigorous educational commitment. She endeavors to educate patients toward understanding their own individualized functional needs and charting a trajectory toward each person’s health goals. On a Personal Note… She resides in Scottsdale with her husband Gino, their son Christopher, and one Schnauzer, Maggie Rose, otherwise known as Princess Wigglebutt.
