Biography

Dr. Pinto is a Chiropractor as well as an Active Release Techniques (ART)® and Medical Acupuncture Provider. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an honours degree in Physiology and Psychology and from there went to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating in 2012. Dr. Pinto follows the Functional Integrated Therapy (FIT) approach when treating her patients, and incorporates a variety of techniques such as Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, joint manipulation, ART®, Graston techniques and kinesiotaping techniques. She acknowledges the uniqueness of each individual and their injury, and guides her therapy likewise. Her goals are to decrease pain, maximize function and increase the overall wellbeing of her patients. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. PInto is a Running Coach for the Running Room, a Health and Fitness writer for two online publications: the Arthritis Society of Canada, and Suhaag magazine.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I am a focused, hands-on, movement therapist committed to delivering the highest quality of care, and returning my clients to their maximal level of functioning. My goal is to get my clients back to health, sport and activity and to achieve time-targeted results.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

Medical Acupuncture Active Release Techniques® Manipulation

What are you proud of in your practice?

Connecting with people from a variety of backgrounds, ages and activity levels and empowering them to take their health into their own hands. From the 74-year old who wants to continue being independent and active to the 14-year old who wants to quickly return to their sport. Each and every one of us has the ability to improve and achieve gains, if given the appropriate tools to do so.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

Being a recreational runner myself, I have ironically suffered a couple of injuries of my own; from these experiences, I have been drawn to rehabilitation and preventative rehab for runners. A trained eye can detect even subtle imbalances by observing an individual walk or run. This can contribute greatly to providing targeted and efficient therapy. Occasionally, the area of complaint is located away from the actual cause of the problem - it is all part of the complex world of therapy, and what I love most about my profession!
