Biography

Brad started his education at York University where he completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology as well as a 3-year certificate in Athletic Therapy. During his time at York he was the head athletic therapist for both the men’s varsity hockey and baseball teams and received many scholarships and awards including student athletic therapist of the year. A desire to discover the best possible way to improve the health and performance of his patients, Brad began his research education by obtaining his Master’s of Science (MSc) from the University of Western Ontario in the area of neuromuscular physiology. Brad’s thesis work centered on the physiology of electrical muscle stimulation to discover the therapeutic and rehabilitative benefit. His research is published in the Journal of Applied Physiology. Following his Master’s Brad decided that athletic therapy gave him an exceptional education in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of extremity injuries, however he wanted to further this knowledge of the back and neck. This decision led Brad to the preeminent school for evidence-based chiropractic, the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). During his 4-year Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) degree at CMCC Brad solidified his knowledge as it pertains to the back, neck and core. Once again, following his education at CMCC, Brad’s constant journey to pursue the best possible evidence-based care for his patients drove him to McMaster University. McMaster is world-renowned for it’s rehabilitative sciences program and this is where Brad is currently obtaining his PhD. Opening a multi-disciplinary clinic like High Performance Health has been a dream of Brad’s since he was a teenager and first discovered the benefits of fitness on both health and performance. The motto of High Performance Health is “where research meets patient care” and through his 13-years (and counting) of post secondary education Brad is striving to take the most cutting edge preventative, rehabilitative and performance boosting techniques from the research journals and text books and apply them where it counts, to his patients and athletes.

Dr. Brad Murray is very helpful in describing injuries and therapies. He is thorough in his examinations and in the detailed manner in which he describes/demonstrates his prescribed exercises. He is prepared to deal with the elite athlete and those with more common concerns. I would highly recommend his services.
