I attended the University of Cartagena, School of Dentistry, where I earned my dental degree in 1993. I completed my Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and received my certificate of proficiency at Pontificia Javeriana University, Schools of Medicine and Dentistry in 2000. Thereafter, I completed a one-year clinical rotation in Maxillofacial Tumor and Reconstructive Surgery under Dr. Eric Carlson at University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2001. Upon coming to Canada, I completed a Master’s of Health Sciences (MHSc) degree in Bioethics at the renowned Joint Centre for Bioethics, University of Toronto, in 2011. Afterwards, I re-qualified my dental degree by successfully completing the NDEB’s examinations for certification as a dentist in Canada in 2014. I am a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the Colombian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
