Dr. Jennifer L. Gawthrop

Dr. Gawthrop was born and raised in West Virginia. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from West Virginia University in 2013 to become a first generation dentist. She studied Biology for three years at West Virginia University until her early acceptance into the School of Dentistry and was granted a Regents Bachelors of Arts Degree in 2012. During her dental school career she received national recognition for her philanthropic efforts. Having integrated a dental component into a homeless outreach program, arranging for the donation of dental supplies to the Peace Corps in Ghana, and among other things, establishing an annual 5K race to support the “Give Back a Smile” program which benefits domestic violence victims. Dr. Gawthrop plans to continue her humanitarian efforts in the community. Dr. Gawthrop focuses on comprehensive dentistry while educating her patients on the importance of oral health and its correlation to total body health. Dr. Gawthrop believes a healthy and confident smile can help her patients achieve their best First Impression. Dr. Gawthrop is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is excited to continue her training to better serve her patients. She is a firm believer that there is never an end to education.
