That's why at Markham Dental Smiles, our mission is to provide you with the best quality care and treatment, with both compassion and integrity. We focus on your concerns and needs to create a personalized treatment plan to give you the Smile you want and deserve. We are a small clinic with friendly and attentive staff. We take time to get to know all our patients and want to make each visit as comfortable as possible.
What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?
We offer current technology to aid in our diagnosis and treatment plans tailored to each individual patient. We use digital x-rays to get clear images with minimum x-ray exposure and intraoral cameras to show patients what we see. We also offer the OraVital System, to treat oral infections that cause gum disease, bad breath, infections around implants and cavities. It involves microbiology testing of areas of the mouth and a combined personalized regimen of prescribed antibiotic/antifungal and antimicrobial rinses.

The staff was really friendly and walked me through every process and answered my concerns about teeth sensitivity. There was Netflix to watch during the cleaning. They had new technology to scan your teeth for a night guard rather than the dreaded dental moulds I’ve done in other dental offices. I was well informed about my dental health. Everything went well. One thing I don’t like, it’s there front desk, the receptionist named Tracy. She’s lack of customer service language and manner. For my actual appointment, Dr. Kwok was great. She is very thorough and will take the time to explain and answer your questions. I was doing a pano-x-ray and had expressed my worries that my insurance plan may not cover it, and the assistant said she was assured that the office administrator said it was ok. When I went to pay, my plan only covered a portion of the x-ray and my services. Being it was my first time at the clinic (and new insurance) I would have liked to discuss coverage and services for the appointment. However my experience at Markham Dental Smiles was a 10/10 positive one and I'll definitely be going back. My hygienist was amazing at explaining everything she was doing every step of the way. I let her know my gums sometimes got a little sensitive during cleanings and she made sure to use a gentle hand while still doing a thorough job. Finally Dr. Kwok came in and in an efficient manner looked over everything and consulted with my hygienist to ensure nothing was missed. I felt very taken care of. I'll also add that the additional covid measures in place are top notch and I felt extremely safe and secure during my appointment. I can tell that the staff take the safety of the patients and themselves very seriously.
