Dr. Aisling Whitaker

Hi! I am Dr. Whitaker, and I look forward to welcoming you to Pil Son Dental Group. First, I would like to introduce myself. I am originally from Dublin, Ireland and recently moved to Toronto with my Canadian husband. Since completing my training in Dentistry, I have worked as a family dentist in Ireland. I have experience in all aspects of general dentistry and my primary goal is patient education and prevention of disease. Prior to studying Dentistry, I completed a PhD in Psychology. My background has allowed me to develop a gentle approach to dentistry, as well as an appreciation for creating a positive dental experience with each patient. I aim to provide a calm and relaxed environment. Especially when working with children and nervous patients. I value the relationship with my patients and promoting oral health above all else. Outside of my work, I enjoy yoga, watching documentaries, travelling, cooking and getting to know the city.

What are you proud of in your practice?

Because of my background in Psychology, I find myself in a unique position to develop a new approach to dentistry. I am very much aware that some patients can find going to the dentist uncomfortable, even though technology in the last couple of years has made great leaps forward to reduce this. That is why I invest a lot of time in building a relationship with my patients. Being able to understand and get to know them, to a point where they come into the office smiling, is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.
