Dr. Joannis Sekoulidis

Without a doubt, dentistry is a passion of mine! After taking a one-year hiatus in my mid 20s in order to figure out what my life’s work should be, I came to the conclusion that dentistry was it. The combination of technical skill, spatial awareness and patient contact was a perfect fit for me. And so today, I look forward to sharing this passion with you, your family and friends! My goal as a dentist is to always provide the best oral health for my patients so that their mouth stays healthy not only today, but for years to come. I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto in 2011. I am currently an active member in the dental community, having been a representative for the Ontario Dental Association and an elected member of its General Council. Before going into dentistry, I completed my Masters at the University of Toronto in Alzheimer’s disease related research and studied the role of the immune system in health at the PhD level. Lastly, when I go home and enjoy what most people do — I love food, music, watching a movie and occasionally enjoying a cold beverage on a hot summer day. I also have a soft spot for watching my favourite Toronto team, the Raptors, play their heart out every season. But most of all, I love spending time with my family, friends and my wife and true love, Patrycja, and our somewhat clumsy and loving dog, Henry.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I have a keen interest in implants and am proud to have received my Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in acknowledgement of my training and abilities to place dental implants. Furthermore, I am also interested in technology and have very up-to-date tools to help ensure that my patients get the best treatment and implants in a very efficient time frame.
