About
Originally from Toronto, after graduating from Upper Canada College, Dr. Lee moved to the United States. He received a scholarship to attend Boston University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, then spent the next four years obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He subsequently moved to New York City and completed his hospital-based residency at the teaching hospital of Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a Resident, he treated patients with varying dental and facial trauma and infection, and trained in complex dental and surgical procedures. Dr. Lee also treated medically and physically-compromised patients in the Operating Room, while being trained and becoming certified to administer intravenous (IV) sedation by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Having spent his time in Boston and New York, two of the most medically advanced cities North America, Dr. Lee was able to train with many leaders in the field of dentistry. He brings his training and knowledge back to Toronto, where he is engaging in private practice, as well as serving currently as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Lee also devotes part of his time treating the native First Nations community in Northern Ontario by acting as a Staff Dental Surgeon at Weeneebayko General Hospital. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, good food, and sports, especially soccer.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
My philosophy is to merge scientifically-based treatment solutions with patient concerns to allow a proper informed treatment decision to be made. Having trained in Boston and New York, two of the most medically advanced cities North America, I was able to work with many leaders in the field of dentistry. I bring my training and knowledge back to Toronto, where I am engaging in private practice, as well as am currently a Clinical Instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
The three areas of dentistry I am passionate about are Preventative Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, and Surgical Dentistry. Whether it be in the form of decay removal or dental cleanings for adults of children, preventative dentistry allows me to ensure an optimal and stable oral health environment for long term oral health. Understanding the importance of a great smile, cosmetic dentistry allows me to work with each patient to achieve their goals, utilizing many options such as veneers, whitening, or Invisalign treatment. Often times surgical intervention is required, including wisdom teeth removal, root canal therapy, implant surgery, bone/gum grafting, or gum therapy. Most surgical procedures in our practice are performed under nitrous oxide sedation.
What are you proud of in your practice?
What I am most proud of in our practice is the genuine empathy and care we have for our patients. Whether it be our helpful front desk staff, or the way our doctors interact with each patient, we always strive to make the patient's visit as comfortable as possible. Our office manager and secretary will always work with each patient to ensure proper booking times and insurance submissions. Our doctors will always discuss each treatment option thoroughly with our patients to allow them to make an informed decision.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I currently practice the full scope of dentistry for adults and children, and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of it.
