Dr. Bo Van Tran

Helping his patients feel welcome and comfortable at True North Dental Studio is one of Dr. Tran’s most significant objectives. With a focus on preventative care and assisting patients to achieve and maintain ideal dental health, he is committed to providing gentle care using progressive dental techniques and advanced clinical skills. Dr. Tran’s professional experience includes working in private practice as well as public health facilities. His extensive knowledge allows him to efficiently and comfortably serve the unique needs of his patients. Dr. Tran maintains an overview of the latest in dental research and technology, assuring that his patients receive the finest dental services. Dr. Tran grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Red or Green you might ask? He is definitely a fan of green chile. Dr. Tran knew at a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in the medical profession and to be in a position of helping those in need. He has an older brother who is also a dentist, and Dr. Tran had the privilege of helping his brother open his first practice where he worked as a dental assistant and receptionist. This is where he fell in love with the art of dentistry. In Dr. Tran’s opinion, dentistry is both a challenging and rewarding career. Having the capacity to change a person’s life by creating a beautiful and healthy smile is the primary motivation that drives him to work every day.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

Many patients don't go see a dentist due to a bad past experience, and or have major dental anxiety. We offer nitrous sedation to help calm a patient during treatment, and have a ceiling mounted television so you can watch your favorite Netlflix show while in the chair. I treat every patient like I would my own family. I believe greatly in patient education, and will thoroughly explain what my recommendations are. Patients need to understand why a particular treatment is recommended so that they can make an informed decision.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

I focus on providing the complete general dental services, but am also offering specialty treatment such as Implants, Veneers and Invisalign.

What are you proud of in your practice?

Advances in dental technology and equipment have allowed us to provide better and safer dental treatment. We offer digital X-rays and have a cone beam computed tomography unit that can acquire a 3D image, allowing us to visualize the treatment area in 3-dimensions. Being able to see how an impacted wisdom teeth is oriented in relation to a nerve, or evaluate a site for a dental implant in 3-dimensions allows for safer implant planning and placement.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

We offer a wide array of dental services. It truly has to be comprehensive, from treating gum disease, to replacing missing teeth, to teeth whitening. We strive to meet most of our patient's dental needs, minimizing the need for them to travel to other offices to receive care. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry. Improving not only function but esthetics is our goal. We want to create healthy, beautiful smiles.
