Hi, My name is Danisa and I am a Physiotherapy Assistant and Pilates Instructor at Unique Rehab.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
Pilates training is a technique incorporated into our Physiotherapy treatment to optimize patient’s recovery through conditioning and strengthening exercises. The programs focus on core stability and efficiency of movement. They are created to meet the needs and abilities of each individual by encouraging body awareness. Our facility also provides classes for non-physiotherapy patients interested in practicing Pilates.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
I use my experience and Pilates training to help patient develop their core stability, strengthen their muscle and optimize their exercises.
What are you proud of in your practice?
Helping patients meet and exceed their training, flexibility and fitness goals.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I enjoy working with patients who struggle with flexibility and stretching. The importance of stretching in pain management and recovery. The most established and obvious benefit of stretching is to help improve flexibility and range of motion. As the body ages, muscles can become tighter and range of motion in the joints can be minimized. A lack of flexibility can cause movement to become slower and less fluid, making an individual more susceptible to muscle strains or other soft tissue injuries. This can put a damper on active lifestyles and even hinder day-to-day, normal motions. An increase in flexibility is accompanied by improved balance and coordination.
