Biography

Laura obtained her Masters in Physical Therapy at The University Toronto and a specialized Honours degree in Kinesiology degree from York University. She is currently a Professor at Seneca College in the department of Fitness and Health Promotion and a clinical instructor for U of T Physical Therapy program and Seneca College Fitness and Health Program. Laura completed a 40 week fellowship in Applied Functional Science (GIFT) at the Gray Institute where she studied under Gary Gray PT and Dr. Dave Tiberio. This journey led her to focus her practice on the functional three dimensional kinetic chain analysis while converging the physical sciences, biological sciences, and behavioural sciences to better the overall function of her patients. Whether returning to a simple daily activity, a high level sport, sport conditioning or even injury prevention, Laura will design a program, assessment and treatment specific to your needs and individual body. She has also completed a Fucntional Golf System Certification but the Gray Institute previously known as (NG360) through which she will be able to dynamically assess the biomechanics of your swing and design a specific exercise program to your individual needs. Her continuing education courses include: Functional Range Conditioning®, Chain Reaction Seminars, Functional Soft Tissue Transformation (Los Angles California) which focuses on restoring the health of the soft tissue through the facial structures, Neurokinetic Therapy, Acupuncture AFCI, Manual Therapy, Active Release Techniques, Mulligan Concepts, Pose Running Techniques, and Running Specialist through the Running Clinic. She has experience working with the Toronto Football Club Academy, The Midget Marlies, Youth Girls Soccer Teams and Youth Basketball both on field coverage and physical training. Laura is a mother of 2 little girls and when she not running after her little ones she continues to be active with running, yoga, basketball and beach volleyball. She is especially interested in training young athletes to focus on injury prevention and most of all, restoring the confidence of our youth in athletics through movement literacy.
