Louise opened Haley Rehab in 2004 after working as an physiotherapist in orthopaedic outpatient public and private settings in Ottawa and Southern Ontario. She is a graduate of McMaster University School of Physiotherapy (1993) and Lakehead University School of Nursing (1988). While developing and managing a cancer rehabilitation clinic at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre her passion for treating patients with cancer and chronic disease ignited and she became Vodder certified in lymphedema management. She has acted as a consultant on various research projects including Ottawa Breast Cancer Action in the development of patient exercise and information booklets on lymphedema. In 2007, she received designation by Ontario Ministry of Health for an Assisted Devices Program clinic for patients in need of compression therapy for lymphedema. Louise believes in empowering patients with the tools necessary for self-management of their disease. She has taken several postgraduate courses and enjoys combining her nursing and physiotherapy background in treating patients. She holds certifications in acupuncture, (AFCI) dry needling, (Kinetacore), lymphedema (Vodder) and SFMA and was awarded the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario Award of Distinction for 2009 in recognition of her work in lymphedema and cancer rehabilitation. Louise enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
