After receiving his Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University, Alex obtained his Master of Physical Therapy from Western University. Since then, he has worked at multiple clinics, Family Health Team, Hospitals and even Long Term Care facilities!
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
With my background in Biology & Physiology and Physical Therapy, I provide a thorough assessment to figure out whether your symptoms are originating from muscles, bones/joints, or nerves. During the initial assessment, we will also spend time identifying any barriers to recovery (daily aggravating factors, job, posture, activities/sports). At the end of the assessment and subsequent treatment sessions, you will receive a comprehensive Physiotherapy treatment that consists of both hands-on therapy and progression of your exercises.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
Individualized Physiotherapy Exercise Program Education (Activity modification, postural awareness, Gradual return-to-work/sports) Manual Therapy (Soft Tissue Release/Massage to relax tight muscles and Joint Mobilization to get stiff joints moving again)
What are you proud of in your practice?
I am proud to be in a profession that is embedded in both public and private healthcare system. Having had previously worked closely with family physicians and specialists, I strive to provide evidence-based rehabilitation medicine that focuses on empowering patients through movements & exercises. As they say, you don't "get" physio, you "do" physio. I find it extremely rewarding when my patients feel like they are given the tools & resources to take care of themselves.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I have assessed & treated a variety of musculoskeletal conditions both during acute and chronic stages of the injury/condition • head/neck pain, whiplash, concussion • low back pain, sciatica • shoulder injuries/condition, rotator cuff, frozen shoulder, bursitis, tennis elbow • wrist/hand pain, carpal tunnel, de quervain's, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis • hip/groin injury • knee injury - ACL/MCL, meniscus, Patello-femoral Knee Pain, Arthritis • ankle/foot pain or stiffness
