Biography

Brian graduated from the University of Toronto with Master’s in Science degree in Physical Therapy in 2014 after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. Since then he has worked extensively alongside orthopaedic surgeons and sport medicine physicians in both private practice clinics and in acute post-operative care. Brian has also completed additional post-graduate training in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture at McMaster University and is currently working towards his Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Brian enjoys working with clients from all walks of life and believes strongly in the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle regardless of one’s age or current level of fitness. In his spare time Brian continues to stay active playing beach volleyball, tennis and basketball. Brian also enjoys rock climbing, and is an avid snowboarder during the winter. With all this athleticism, you may see him at the Olympics one day!

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I truly believe that our role as physiotherapists is to educate our clients on the root cause of their pain and injuries and to empower our clients to be able to self-manage and self-treat their injuries through exercise so that they can return to doing what they love to do.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

Individualized exercise prescription including strength and conditioning principles Manual Therapy Including Joint mobilization and Manipulation, Spinal Manipulation Contemporary Medical Acupuncture and Dry Needling

What are you proud of in your practice?

I really enjoy when clients tell me that they feel confident managing and treating their own injuries, or when they’ve hit a new PR at a race, at the gym, or just getting back to what they love doing.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I really enjoy treating the shoulder. It’s an incredibly complex and interesting joint. Shoulder injuries have a huge impact not only on our ability to participate in sport but also in our daily lives.

He was very thorough in making sure I understood what was going on and what my treatment would be. Very thorough with the questions he asked about my condition before he put together an action plan. Super friendly and definitely appreciated his professionalism.

Brian is fantastic at what he does. He is great at analyzing what is the actual issue and creates a specific treatment for your needs. He also explains what and why he's doing something which I really appreciate as it helps me do exercises better. I feel like there's been significant progress regarding my issues after just one visit.

Brian was very clear about everything he was doing and why. I felt as though he took my issue seriously and understood when I couldn't answer his questions in detail.
