Biography

Clarence is a graduate of the University of Queensland where he earned a Master of Physiotherapy Studies degree in 2011. Prior to this, he attended McMaster University, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science. In his years working in the outpatient orthopaedic setting, he has enjoyed treating a wide variety of injuries with a particular interest in neck, low back, and shoulder pathologies. He is well versed in post-surgical rehabilitation, sports and overuse injuries, as well as seniors’ care. He emphasizes the use of hands-on manual therapy and active exercise to help clients achieve their goals. He has a keen interest in continuing education, having recently completed his Level 2 Upper Quadrant certification through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He has also completed a beginner’s acupuncture course through Acupuncture Canada and a dry needling course in Australia. In his spare time, Clarence stays active by running in long-distance races, playing recreational soccer and ultimate frisbee, and hiking regularly outside of the GTA.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

Patients should choose me as their provider for several reasons. First, I am motivated to get you better and will do my best to educate you about pain and how it relates to your condition. Secondly, I will ensure that we reach your goals in a realistic time period and and teach you how to self-manage your injury upon discharge. Third, my goal is to get you moving & not rely on passive treatments because movement is medicine!

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

I specialize in soft tissue release (trigger point therapy), rehabilitation & dry needling.

What are you proud of in your practice?

In my practice, I am proud to have seen many motivated patients recover from devastating injuries such as concussions and fractures mainly because they kept fighting and were compliant with the exercises during the rehabilitation process!

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy treating patients following rotator cuff repairs, total knee/hip replacements or back surgeries because it is a joy seeing the big changes in strength and function on a weekly basis. I also enjoy treating patients with shoulder pathologies because they are a good challenge!
