Biography

Ingrid graduated from Queen’s University with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. She has clinical experience in various rehabilitation settings, treating orthopaedic, stroke, and medically complex populations. Ingrid firmly believes that having pain-free movement is crucial to leading a happy, healthy lifestyle. She is motivated by the desire to help her clients return to life’s meaningful activities by regaining function and mobility. Her treatments are built upon evidence-based practice and client-centered care, which consists of manual therapy, taping, exercise prescription, and above all, patient education. She empowers her clients with knowledge regarding their condition, as well as self-management strategies tailored to the individual. When Ingrid is not in the clinic, you can find her planning her next hiking adventure, enjoying a cup of coffee with a good read, or practicing mindfulness in a hot yoga class.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

While it is extremely difficult to isolate conditions to specific joints in the human body, I would say I enjoy treating cases of shoulder, neck, low back, and ankle conditions. With most cases, the cause is often multi-factorial, which leads me to address other areas of the body to manage the current condition and to prevent future re-injury.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I take pride in delivering exceptional patient care by establishing therapeutic relationships and open lines of communication. It gives me great pleasure when clients return with stories of progressively achieving their physiotherapy goals.

What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in?

I have a special interest in manual joint mobilizations, facilitating normal movement patterns, and soft tissue release therapy. Pelvic health Physiotherapy is also a special interest and I am actively enhancing my knowledge in this area of physiotherapy participating in post graduate education.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

My approach to physiotherapy treatment is treating the patient, not just the condition. By taking the time to know my clients and their life’s demands, I am able to provide individualized treatments that translate into functional activities. I work with my clients to help them return to meaningful activities, whether it is related to making coffee in the morning, walking around the block, or getting back to a hobby. My desire to provide clients with the best care has driven me to take post-graduate courses in manual therapy for up-to-date, evidence-based treatment techniques.
