Biography

Jennifer graduated with a Master’s of Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba, after obtaining a prior Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, also from the University of Manitoba. Jennifer has acquired experience working with a variety of conditions, from sports related injuries, to motor vehicle and work place accidents, post surgical conditions, degenerative conditions, as well as everyday sprains and strains. She takes a very hands-on approach to therapy utilizing a variety of mobilizations and manual therapy techniques, soft tissue release, therapeutic modalities, and exercise prescription, in order to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. Jennifer believes in a client centered approach to therapy, encouraging active client participation, as well as utilizing client education and counselling as tools to achieve therapy goals. Jennifer has an extensive background in competitive dancing, and believes in the value of continuing education. She is planning on pursuing her manual therapy levels with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, as well as acquire certification in acupuncture to assist her treatment. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys maintaining and active and healthy lifestyle running, swimming, and exercising in the gym, as well as enjoying the outdoors.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I take a very client centered approach to therapy and make sure the therapy provided suits the client’s lifestyle as best as possible. I also use a very hands on approach in clinic and provide tools for successful rehab at home.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

Exercise therapy, soft tissue manipulation, mobilizations

What are you proud of in your practice?

I’m proud of my practice because I spend the necessary time and effort to focus on the patient, and view each individual case as something special and unique in order for treatment to be individualized for each specific case.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy dealing with sports injuries, as I find getting an athlete back into the game requires a lot of creativity in treatment.
