Katja graduated from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England with her Masters of Physical Therapy in 2016. Prior to heading abroad for her Masters, she attended The University of Toronto and completed a degree in Kinesiology. Katja has a strong interest in complex orthopaedic injuries and has been working in this field of private practice since completing her qualification exams. Her treatments include detailed assessments, manual therapy techniques, acupuncture and an individualized exercise program to promote overall function. She is in the process of completing her acupuncture certification with APTEI. She has a special interest in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and plans to begin her training in the fall. From the age of 4 years old, Katja has had a passion for sport. She played competitive soccer and competed on the University of Toronto Track and Field Team during her undergrad. She continues to remain closely linked to sport as she coaches an under-10 competitive soccer team and coaches track and field at her old high school. Growing up playing these sports, Katja dealt with countless injuries and experienced how beneficial Physiotherapy was to help get her back out on the field/track. These experiences strongly influenced her passion to pursue Physiotherapy. In her spare time, Katja likes to keep active, eat yummy food and travel the world! She has just returned from a month long trip to South-East Asia.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

My main goal is to always help clients reach their physical goals through physiotherapy. Whether that means improving strength and flexibility or decreasing pain, I will try my best to get you to those goals. I take pride in building a strong, trustworthy rapport with my clients!

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

Manual Therapy Soft tissue release Exercise prescription

What are you proud of in your practice?

I am proud of my experience in various areas of Physiotherapy (orthopaedic conditions, neurological conditions and chronic pain), which allows me to treat a variety of conditions. I also have an extensive history in sport, which allows me to understand and relate to clients who are eager to get back to being active and healthy.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy treating sports related injures and chronic pain conditions. I find I am able to relate well to sport related injuries and the frustration that this can bring to individuals. Its always great seeing athletes get back out onto the field/court/track. In addition, many people suffer from chronic pain and I enjoy helping these individuals discover what is missing from their rehab program.
