Biography

Lamiya graduated from Queens University in 2012, with her masters in Physical Therapy. After working as a Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, Lamiya's passion for women's health led her to pursue further training in pelvic floor physiotherapy. She works closely with patients who suffer from pelvic floor dysfunctions affecting female and male patients, with a focus on pre and post natal effects on the pelvic floor muscles. Her goal is to empower and help educate her patients to combat the effects of pregnancy and delivery on their bodies. Using a variety of treatment modalities such as manual therapy, functional taping techniques, exercise prescription and most importantly education, Lamiya creates an individualized treatment plan geared to meeting a patients' goals! On her spare time, Lamiya enjoys working up a sweat with yoga and spin classes!

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I've been practicing for over five years, with exposure to orthopaedic and pelvic floor physiotherapy. This allows me to treat patients in a holistic manner, targeting both chronic and acute causes.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

-Pain Education -Manual Therapy -Exercise Prescription

What are you proud of in your practice?

I'm proud that I am able to impact my patients lives, and help them become more proactive in their journey to recovery

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy working with pre and post natal populations because I cherish the opportunity to help guide them through the physical transitions that occur with pregnancy and seeing them return to their physical activity postpartum.
