Lindsey earned an Honours Specialization degree in Kinesiology from Western University in 2015. She continued on to receive her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2017. In addition to her university education, Lindsey is a level 2 manual therapist and is currently in pursuit of her FCAMPT designation through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Lindsey has also taken courses in myofascial release therapy, athletic taping and sports injury assessment and treatment. Lindsey has over 18 years of ballet experience and holds professional certifications in ballet and jazz through the Performance Arts Educators of Canada. Today, Lindsey uses her comprehensive dance knowledge to bring a unique perspective to the assessment and treatment of dancers and other members of the performing arts. She also has experience working intimately with sports teams at the university and professional level. She was the lead athletic therapist for the varsity men’s lacrosse team at Western University, as well as other semi-professional lacrosse teams in the southern Ontario area. This experience has lead to Lindsey’s keen interest in using physiotherapy for return to sport and activity. Lindsey uses a variety of treatment techniques in her practice to help clients reach their goals – including comprehensive assessments, joint mobilization, stretching, myofascial release, corrective exercise and education. She takes pride in approaching each client with kindness and empathy. She believes in taking the time to listen to each client and working with them collaboratively in their rehabilitation. She believes that these are key to finding the root cause of their condition and helping clients achieve their goals. Outside of the clinic Lindsey enjoys taking dance classes, yoga, hiking and weight training. She also enjoys reading a good book and spending time at her family cottage.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I will take the time and put in a lot of work into each patient to find the root cause of their problem and create individualized rehabilitation programs for them. I spend one on one time with them, don’t use assistance or excessive passive modalities. Each patient will feel like they have had an intimate, active and inviting rehab experience with me. I believe that I have great assessment and treatment skills and will get people the outcomes that they want and deserve.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

1. Manual therapy – hands on mobilization and manipulation of spinal and peripheral joints 2. Myofascial release therapy – mobilization of muscles and fascial tissues 3. Exercise prescription and return to sport – I love creating individualized exercise programs – anything from pain free desk work to high level sport

What are you proud of in your practice?

There are two things I am most proud of. My outcomes, and my devotion to giving each patient the best experience possible. I put in a lot of work to have a very concrete diagnosis, and create comprehensive treatments plans tailored to each patient and this has helped me have amazing outcomes with my patients. I also take a lot of pride in approaching each client with kindness and an open ear. I want everyone to feel as if they have finally been heard and not pushed out of the room without understanding what is going on with their body.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

Of course I enjoy treating members of the performing arts – specifically conditions involving the low back, pelvis and lower extremity. Growing up as a dancer I endured numerous injuries. Now, I like to combine my comprehensive dance knowledge and physiotherapy experience to find a balance between what looks beautiful and what prevents injury. I also like doing return to sport programs. I like learning everything about a persons sport and using my creativity to get them back to pain free activity.
