Biography

Heather has been practicing at Dunbar Physio since 2004 after moving from Northern Ireland where she graduated in 1997. Heather’s treatment uses an integrated approach involving education, manual therapy and appropriate exercises to address the root cause of the individual’s symptoms and movement dysfunction. She enjoys working with both acute and chronic issues and has had excellent results in the use of acupuncture to treat inflammatory conditions. Heather values the importance of forming supportive relationships with her clients to empower them to achieve a pain-free state of optimal strength and movement patterning. Heather enjoys treating a wide-range of musculoskeletal conditions but is particularly interested in the cervical spine, lumbar spine, ankle, knee and shoulder joints and her sports focus is on runners and swimmers. Heather wants her patients to feel they have been listened to and that their physiotherapist has an in-depth understanding of their injury & symptoms. It is important to her that they leave with a thorough explanation of their presenting issue and they feel empowered to work with Heather during the treatment sessions to create long-term healing.
