Biography

Yvonne is a graduate of the Master of Physiotherapy program at the University of Sydney and she has recently moved back from Australia.  Growing up in Vancouver, Yvonne attended Simon Fraser University and received a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation.  Prior to relocating to Sydney, Yvonne had extensive experience working as a Kinesiologist in both occupational and rehabilitation settings. Ever since suffering injuries from playing sports as a teenager, Yvonne has developed a passion in treating the knee and shoulder.  She also possesses a strong interest in sports related and post-surgical cases.  As a physiotherapist, Yvonne utilizes a variety of manual techniques (ex. soft tissue release and joint mobilizations), modalities (ex. ultrasound), biomechanical analysis, education, and exercise prescription to assist clients in getting back to their pre-injury activities, whatever it may be.  She is always ready to go the extra mile for her clients and her holistic approach to treatment will help identify and correct factors, leading to the reduced risk of re-injury.   In her spare time, Yvonne enjoys playing volleyball and tennis, traveling, and trying different cuisines.  She is looking to re-cement her roots in Vancouver and plans to participate and work alongside athletes of various sporting levels.

I broke my arm 3 months ago and it's refusing to heal. My doc was worried about my mobility in my elbow and shoulder so he sent me to physio. As you can imagine, physio on a still broken arm is scary. Yvonne was great, taking time to get the whole picture and working on the whole system as well as the elbow. The treatment was really well structured, building me up to the stressful exercising of the elbow joint through gentle testing and (less gentle) massage, and equally importantly, bringing me down from it with a TENS machine session. I'm feeling it today but I'm NOT feeling the "crunch" in my arm I was so terrified of :)

  • I was very satisfied with the first physiotherapy session I received from Yvonne.

It was good that Yvonne went in details for the assessment. The treatment I received did alleviate my pain. I thought that I should share the following as well ... I found the action of the front desk a bit unprofessional. She appeared to be rushing when asking me to fill in the form. There were no other people waiting behind me and I was on time for my appointment.
