Dr. Kim H. Miller is a licensed Clinical and Neuropsychologist with experience treating mood/anxiety disorders related to health issues, stress management, sleep disorders, life adjustment issues as well as adjustment difficulties for those facing long term health issues. Dr. Miller works with people to improve their general health and well-being through healthy lifestyle changes as well as helping people with chronic medical conditions/injuries increase their coping skills. She also works with caregivers and family members coping with loved ones who have chronic medical conditions. Additionally, Dr. Miller specializes in the evaluation and treatment of people who have sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as well as those who have acquired brain disorders (e.g. dementias, Alzheimer’s Disease, tumors and strokes). Dr. Miller provides psychotherapy through use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoeducational interventions, cognitive remediation and treatment planning to help increase each person’s capacity and power to live a meaningful life. Dr. Miller graduated from Nova Southeastern University with her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Missouri Health Sciences Consortium where she treated populations with physical disabilities, neuropsychological deficits and chronic health issues. After graduate school, Dr. Miller moved to New York for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Rehabilitation Psychology/Neuropsychology. As a postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Miller specialized in evaluation and treatment of pediatric and adult brain injury, spinal cord injury as well as chronic health issues. Through psychotherapy, education and functionally based cognitive remediation, Dr. Miller addressed the behavioral as well as emotional aspects of life post brain injury. She also worked with caregivers and family members of those coping with the difficulties of caring for someone with these disabilities. She went on to work at the Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Center in Oklahoma City as the Inpatient Staff Psychologist treating people with acute brain and spinal cord injury.
