Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

My aim is to develop a safe and validating relationship with you that is based in compassion. This relationship becomes the foundation for everything that happens in therapy. You will feel safe, supported and understood in our work together.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

Although I begin by building a compassionate relationship, I incorporate evidence based treatments as necessary depending on the concern. For anxiety and mood issues I incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to provide assistance in identifying automatic negative thoughts and core beliefs that are interfering with experiencing confidence, courage, and life satisfaction. I then assist in building new perspective based in compassion toward the self and teach effective coping and calming strategies to reduce distress. For OCD, trichotillomania, and phobias I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I use Comprehensive Behavioral Interventions for Tics (CBIT) to coach the process of increasing awareness and reducing tics. I also incorporate Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

My areas of specialty include: Anxiety (Generalized anxiety, Obsessive compulsive disorder, Panic, Phobias, Separation anxiety, Social anxiety, Trichotillomania) Academic Concerns (Academic underachievement, ADHD, Adjustment difficulties, Low frustration tolerance, Giftedness, Peer difficulties, Perfectionism, School transitions) Family Systems Concerns (Abuse/neglect, Adjustment difficulties, Autism, Conflict, Disruptive mood, Dysregulated behavior, Parenting, Parent-child relationship, Trauma & PTSD) Mood (Anger, Depression, Grief, Irritability) Tics (Tourette's, Transient Tics)
