Biography

As an interactive psychotherapist, Connie provides individual therapy to adults and engages collaboratively with her clients with compassion, warmth and directness as they work together to identify, explore and set goals related to the presenting issue. Connie empathetically supports her clients through their healing process from a strengths-based, culturally sensitive and anti-oppressive lens. She views therapy as a tool to enhance the skills and strengths that people already have and is clinically trained to provide evidence-based treatment strategies that promote health and well-being. Connie works primarily from Relational, Emotion-Focused, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Mindfulness, and Trauma Informed approaches. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Coaching techniques. She uses an integrative model tailored to each client to address challenges as she does not believe that any one framework can suit the needs of all. Connie has worked with people from many different cultures, ethnicities, religious backgrounds and abilities. She has helped people with Work and Emotional Stress, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, Self-Esteem, Relationship Issues, Goal Setting and other challenges. Connie holds a Master of Social Work degree specializing in Clinical Health and Mental Health from The City University of New York - Hunter College and a MBA from Lund University in Sweden. She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She received her clinical experience at top health institutions including New York University Counselling and Wellness Services and New York Presbyterian Hospital where she provided psychotherapy and counselling services. Connie is dedicated to the well-being of her clients and strives to destigmatize mental health struggles and make therapy enjoyable. Her goal in therapy is to facilitate authentic connection that allows for healing, validation, self-awareness and healthier coping skills and tools. She looks forward to connecting with you in the near future.
