She provides massage treatments for expecting or new mothers as part of our Pre-post natal care program. Cristen enjoys helping patients to recover from injury by assisting in tissue healing and restoring postural balance using manual techniques. She uses massage to treat a variety of physical ailments and to promote health and well being though releasing tension and encouraging relaxation. In addition to her manual treatments, Cristen incorporates K-Taping to direct fluid, assist the body to relieve pain and aid in muscle and joint rehabilitation. To stimulate body’s natural physiological responses and further enhance the benefits of her massage therapy treatments, Cristen incorporates hydrotherapy into her massage treatments. During your treatment with Cristen, you will experience the benefits of a wide variety of massage techniques including Swedish massage, Myofascial Release, Joint Mobilization, Trigger Point Therapy as well as tips on stretching and remedial exercise. Cristen enjoys an active lifestyle, has a cheerful spirit and since she has lived in Don Mills neighbourhood for most of her life, is a familiar face to many of our patients.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I genuinely care for people. I want everyone who comes to see me to leave feeling better and lighter. Working in a multidisciplinary clinic has given me a broad range of experience with many different conditions. Even if it turns out a massage treatment isn't for you, I am well versed in many more of the options available to you and I can help you make a health care plan that works.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

I have experience in treating many conditions using a variety of techniques. Being asked to narrow it down to three I would have to say I get the most positive feedback after Pre/Post-natal treatment, Deep tissue therapeutic massage and from my MVA/Whiplash clients.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I am most proud of helping my clients manage or resolve their pain and tension. Learning how to prevent tension and identify the underlaying cause, helps to keep a body happy and pain free. I am proud of the relationships I have fostered with other healthcare practitioners and my many loyal clients.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy treating clients who are usually too busy to make themselves a priority. I find myself giving the kind of treatment to them that I would give to myself (how I wish that were possible!). New and expecting parents, healthcare practitioners, caregivers and people making lifestyle changes all rank high on this list.
