Born in Montreal and raised in Cornwall, Ontario Sophi is fluent in both English and French. During her second year at Trent University in Peterborough, ON Sophi decided that this was not her path. She spent a year exploring her career options. During this time she decided to pursue her desire to help others improve their health through alternative methods. She started with the highly respected Massage Therapy program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough. She graduated in 2003 and established a practice in Peterborough. Sophi was drawn to the allure of the big city therefore decided to make a move to Toronto’s core in 2004 where she began a successful practice and became a valued member at Toronto Bodyworks until making the decision to branch out on her own in 2010. Presently, Sophi is enrolled in the 3 year Acupuncture program at the Shiatsu School of Canada and will graduate in 2012. She is very excited to be able to offer integrated treatments once having become a Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncturist. Postgraduate courses to date include Thai Massage (including Thai foot massage) (Hawaii, 2003; Thailand, 2005), Ethics and Massage Therapy (2006), TMJ dysfunction (2006), Advanced Soft Tissue Manipulation of the Cervical Region (2007), Lymphatic Drainage (2007), Schweitzer’s Deep Tissue Therapy (2008) and Fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2009), Tuina (2011).
