Dr. Yiwei Gao

Before pursuing dentistry, Dr. Gao was a middle school science teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She is committed to lifelong learning and continues to expand her skills through ongoing education, including completing a year-long training with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry's NYC Maxicourse, focusing on implant placement and restoration. Active in the dental community, Dr. Gao is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and Capital Area Dental Society. She is passionate about helping everyone get the smile they deserve and volunteers to provide free dental care to her community through the Capital Area Dental Foundation. She also participated in a mission trip to Honduras, offering free dental care for two weeks, during which she rescued one of her dogs. Her professional goal is to deliver exceptional care while building lasting relationships with her patients. Outside of work, Dr. Gao enjoys spending time with her husband, their two-year-old son and two rescue dogs. She loves gardening in her free time and exploring the playgrounds and splash pads around Austin with her family.
