Dr. Austin Haught

Dr. Austin Haught was born and raised in Encinitas, and from the time he was born until he went to college, he lived his whole life in the same house that was less than a mile from our dental office! Thanks to his 10+ years of experience, our state-of-the-art dental technology, and amazing team, Dr. Haught is able to provide a comprehensive range of dental services while prioritizing each patient’s unique needs throughout the treatment process. He’s eager to welcome you into our practice, but first, you can learn more about him below. Dr. Haught obtained his undergraduate degree at UCLA, majoring in chemical engineering with an emphasis in biomedical engineering. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine. Prior to returning to his hometown of Encinitas and joining Smiles by Design, he practiced for several years as an associate in San Diego. Dr. Haught is committed to continuing education and has completed extensive training in dental implants, CEREC®, and all aspects of cosmetic and general dentistry. He is a certified Invisalign® provider and has also been trained to perform the Pinhole Surgical Technique® and Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation®, minimally invasive methods to correct gum recession that do NOT require scalpels, sutures, or palatal grafting.
