Dr. Marwan Hameed

Dr. Marwan Hameed attended and graduated from a dental program in Iraq in 1999. He practiced dentistry for several years, before deciding to continue his education. He relocated to Canada to take advantage of an extensive dentistry program. In order to be eligible to continue his education in Canada, Dr. Hameed was required to take a qualifying exam. His exceptional score on the test, he scored #2 out of 572 other applicants, opened the door for him to attend the Dental School of the University of British Columbia. After two years, he received his Canadian dental practice license. In 2010, Dr. Hameed went on to become the administrator of the University of British Columbia’s delegation to Japan, as part of clinical dental exchange program. His travels lead to him practicing dentistry in Tokyo and Nigata. His true passion in dentistry is in providing dental care to those in rural communities that do not have access and cannot afford standard dentistry services. Dr. Hameed belongs to several dental and medical professional organizations. He is also active in continuing education, so that he can improve the quality and care of his patients. He is focused on various areas of dentistry, including Invisilign (invisible braces), Dental Implants, difficult procedures (including wisdom tooth extraction and extensive root canals), orthodontics, and oral surgery. Dr. Marwan Hameed is married to his wife Samar. The couple has a daughter named Jenna. His hobbies include spending time with his family, playing tennis, swimming, and traveling.
