Dr. Lakani Dental Care

The cleaning was much more painful than my typical cleanings, and I take good care of my teeth. The dentist didn't explain much either.

This appointment was unfortunately not great for me. The dentist I saw was quite rude and brought up things that other dentists have never mentioned and sounded alarm bells that weren't warranted. This was surprising, and I felt uncomfortable about it, but the real issue came after. I have always had a small bit of cement left from my braces on the back of one of my teeth, and every other dentist I've ever seen recognizes this quickly and leave it alone because it hasn't caused any issues. The dentist that saw me at this location chipped it off, along with a big chunk of my tooth, and tried telling me it was a cavity (despite the x-rays showing no signs of cavity in this tooth). Her and the technician's behavior changed rather quickly after realizing what happened, and she offered to fill it for just $50 (my deductible). She then changed the tune of her previous comments about other teeth as well, saying everything looked fine but we would monitor over time because she's "conservative" and would never recommend procedures unless necessary. On the bright side, she did fill in the chipped tooth nicely, but I would have preferred it not being chipped in the first place. The front desk staff and the initial technician that took my x-rays were very friendly, and the office was very clean and welcoming, so kudos to them for that. Hopefully my experience was a one-off, but this is the first time I've ever had a negative dentist experience and I will look for another practice for my future appointments.

Excellent first visit with Dr. Lakani. Her and staff were all so friendly and professional. I came in with a longstanding complicated dental problem from a previous dentist, and Dr. Lakani was able to explain what had happened with a plan to correct the problem. She is personable and gave me plenty of time to discuss what was going on. I didn’t feel rushed at all. I feel like she made excellent plan for my dental care going forward.
