Dr. Rick Barfield

Dr. Rick Barfield first discovered his passion for dentistry at a young age, when a visit with his childhood dentist sparked his curiosity about working on teeth and helping improve smiles. From that early experience, he became determined to pursue a career in dentistry and one day build his own practice where he could help patients achieve healthier, more confident smiles. He went on to become the first person in his family to enter the dental profession, turning that childhood inspiration into a lifelong vocation. A native of Richardson, Texas, Dr. Barfield attended J.J. Pearce High School before continuing his studies at Southern Methodist University, where he earned a degree in psychology. His educational background provided him with a strong understanding of human behavior, communication, and patient care, all of which have contributed to his thoughtful and compassionate approach to dentistry. He later pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Baylor University, completing the clinical training necessary to begin his professional career in dentistry. Since earning his DDS degree, Dr. Barfield has been providing trusted and comprehensive dental care to patients in the Plano, Texas area for more than 30 years. Over the course of his long-standing career, he has remained committed to delivering consistent, high-quality care with a focus on patient comfort and long-term oral health. His experience allows him to treat a wide range of dental needs while maintaining a steady emphasis on personalized treatment and strong patient relationships. Dr. Barfield is dedicated to helping individuals and families maintain healthy smiles through a combination of preventive care, restorative treatment, and patient education.
