Dr. Shazia Anjum

Dr. Shazia Anjum is a highly experienced general dentist licensed to practice in Virginia since 2009, with a passion for delivering gentle, high-quality dental care to patients of all ages. With over two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Anjum has built a reputation for being thorough, kind, and deeply committed to her patients' oral health. She received her post graduate dental training at the University of Maryland Dental School, where she completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency in 2009. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Maryland. Dr. Anjum’s professional journey spans multiple countries and clinical environments. She has practiced in hospitals and medical centers across the U.S. and the Middle East, and has held leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Dentistry, where she served on committees such as supply chain, medical records, and surgical planning. In Virginia, Dr. Anjum has practiced in both private and nonprofit settings, including Goochland Cares, where she served as a staff dentist and mentored dental and hygiene students from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She also volunteers as a clinical instructor in VCU school of Dentistry. Her areas of expertise include comprehensive treatment plans, restorative dentistry, periodontal therapy (scaling and root planning), root canal treatment, dentures, crowns and bridge, implants restoration, and children’s dentistry. She is known for her calm, approachable demeanor and her ability to help even the most anxious patients feel at ease. Dr. Anjum is a proud mother of two and enjoys spending her free time outdoors, engaging in activities such as hiking, traveling, and cooking. She is an active member of her community, regularly participating in and organizing events that bring people together. Dr. Anjum finds joy and fulfillment in giving back to the community she calls home, living a meaningful and balanced life rooted in service and connection.
