Dr. Sigafoos has been serving San Diego County for over 20 years as a periodontist, a dental expert who specializes in treating diseases of the gum and other supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth. To be certified in periodontics (from the Greek peri, meaning “around,” and odonts, meaning “tooth”), a dentist must complete at least three years of additional training after graduating from dental school. Dr. Sigafoos handles our office’s advanced periodontal disease treatment. He is a self-described perfectionist. “I strive to get the highest level of control over gum disease as possible,” he says.
