Dr. Candace Athaide

Dr. Athaide obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences Honours degree at McMaster University. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University with honours. Passionate about lifelong learning, Dr. Athaide continues to expand her skill set by taking continuing education courses. She strongly believes that oral health plays an integral role in maintaining overall health, which shows up in her interactions with patients. Her passion for dentistry extends beyond practicing in her local community, and as such, she has provided dental care to underserved communities in Guatemala and Jamaica through outreach missions. When she’s not seeing you for an appointment, Dr. Athaide is busy planning her next trip, exploring her interest in interior design, or grabbing food at a new spot in the city.

I believe my patients benefit from my commitment to providing personalized care. I take the time to deeply understand each person’s unique needs and concerns so I can make sure they feel comfortable and provide them with the best quality treatment.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

1. Restorations. 2. Crowns. 3. Wisdom teeth extractions. During all of these cases, I make sure the patient is informed during every step of the procedure.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I’m most proud of my commitment to patient-centered care. Not only do I provide excellent dental services, I also go above and beyond by providing patients with education about their oral health and treatment options.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy treating restorative cases and doing wisdom teeth extractions. To know that I’m helping someone by improving their oral health and improving a health condition is very rewarding!
