What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?
I provide help with many common struggles including depression, anxiety, personal growth and relationships issues, healing from prior trauma including sexual trauma, and couple and marriage counseling. I also work with those dealing with sexual addictions or sexually compulsive behaviors. My professional orientation is from an interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral perspective meaning that I focus on relational support as an important way to heal and also look at current symptoms and prior experiences as meaningful in terms of understanding yourself as well as finding more healthy ways of coping. I see meaning and purpose as an important component of life that contributes to thriving versus fighting depression and worry and meaninglessness. I have a flexible approach to therapy sessions to better meet your current needs and help you meet your goals. I have been trained in Level I and Level II EMDR, a research-based trauma treatment. I am a licensed psychologist in Colorado (#2547) and work primarily with teens and adults.
What are you and your team proud of at your practice?
I am proud of taking a very realistic and encouraging stance in therapy, meeting people where they are but actively working toward a better future.
