Very good experience

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Choi only one business day before and I was excited to finally get a female doctor, and Asian nonetheless. I’ve only had male dentists since going to the dentist as an adult. When I show up for my appointment, she was on vacation for the week. I wish they hadn’t let me book on this platform. They need to make sure their scheduling is up to date. Any way, because of that, I was seen by Dr. Merchant, who, I was told by the front desk, owns the practice. So I thought to myself, ok cool that must mean he’s good. And he is, and nice, too. Then he tells me that the hygienist called in sick and that therefore, he’ll be the one performing the cleaning. Do they only have one hygienist? I mean, I wasn’t complaining; getting my teeth cleaned by the dentist seemed like star treatment (although I did wonder if dentists are qualified to clean since I’m not sure if they receive training for cleanings, just wondered was all). I also found it strange that there was no hygienist there but he had the person who took my x-rays polish my teeth after he finished the cleaning. Was she qualified to apply the polish??? She got water all over me, by the way. It felt like she didn’t completely know what she was doing because my bib-thing was soaked by the end of it. I must say, though, those x-rays were the most comfortable ones I’ve ever gotten. They usually hurt a lot because I have a small mouth, but they had the inserts that accommodated my mouth size. Lastly, I had to ask for a complimentary oral health kit; they didn’t just offer it at the end, and they “ran out of” toothbrushes. I only received one tiny floss and one tiny toothpaste, both of which aren’t brand name. All in all, would I return? Maybe.
