Dr. Siyeon Kim

Dr. Siyeon Kim received her B.S. in Kinesiology from University of Maryland, College Park. She then continued her education at Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College, where she received her D.D.S degree. Dr. Kim’s residency training was completed at Jersey City Medical Center, where she had extensive emergency medicine and oral-maxillofacial surgery experience. Upon graduation, Dr. Kim received World Clinical Laser Institute Associate Fellowship Certification, as well as Invisalign Aligntech Certification. She actively participates in American Society for Dental Aesthetics (ASDA) annual conferences, where she was recognized as a Smigel Scholar. Over the past fifteen years, Dr. Kim has received The President’s Volunteer Service Award multiple times for her contribution to both dental and non-dental communities. Dr. Kim loves the fact that in her role each patient, clinician, and case is unique. She believes there are hundreds of ways of approaching the patient’s chief concerns, just like there are numerous ways to solve a puzzle – she always welcomes challenging cases! Dr. Kim’s philosophy is “comprehensive care matters.” She strongly believes that dentistry is more than just “teeth,” as it also encompasses a patient’s health, lifestyle, values, and previous experiences – all which are important pieces of puzzles in formulating the best treatment plan for each patient. As a child, Dr. Kim moved around quite a bit. She grew up in Seoul, Korea and Melbourne, Australia before moving to the United States as a junior in high school. Dr. Kim’s secondary college education was focused heavily on visual and performing arts, as all her immediate and extended family members practice art related careers. Therefore, her dental career was quite a surprise for everyone in her family, although Dr. Kim insists that art is a huge component of dentistry also! Dr. Kim loves to take her nine-year-old mini labradoodle fur baby to Central Park for off-leash hours and go on a weekly stroll to Trader Joe’s and the Union Square Farmers Market.
