Quick and timely service, front desk was helpful, dental assistant and hygienist were impersonal and due to there being only one hygienist the appointment was very long.

When I got there I’m not sure if this is a OpenCare problem but the front receptionist said I did not have an appointment, but she was able to seat me up as a new patient. I found it weird because I had received a text message a day before saying my appointment was confirmed, but I didn’t let this short inconvenient judge my rating. I was able to take a seat and quickly they called me back, I appreciated no long wait times. Then the assistant took my pano, X-rays and some pictures, that was fine. I was then reviewed by the hygienist and she checked my gum measurements. She was kind to give me hygiene instructions and didn’t make me feel bad about not flossing as much as I should. The Dr then came into the room and went over X-rays and did a visual exam. Both the Dr and Hygienist were very kind to me and I do appreciate that. I believed this is a helpful skill to have when it comes to patients being scared of going to the dentist after a long time. After the exam I was presented my treatment and I was told I needed a couple of fillings, a regular cleaning, and I was suggest teeth whitening and a Ortho consultation. I said at the moment I only wanted the cleaning and would return for the fillings in another appointment. The same front receptionist from earlier told me ok my total was around $400. I believed it was a little overpriced based my previous experience at other office but I just thought it sometime I need so might as well that I’m here for the cleaning specifically. I had also mentioned when I made the appointment online my first priority was the cleaning and then honestly based on my experience I could continue and whichever treatment I needed…. Later when I was about to pay the $400 or so my card did not pass, I had forgot I had made a unexpected needed payment the same morning. So I went to the front and let them know I would not be able to complete the cleaning because I didn’t have money til Wednesday. Then the treatment coordinator told me let me see, and said If I was able to pay $270 or so for the cleaning and one antibiotic. I said no I didn’t not want to leave myself short for money in case of an emergency for those couple of days. She said ok and said wait there seemed to be a mistake with my insurance input information. And had input my insurance of what they could cover…? So my payment went from $270 for the cleaning and one antibiotic to $129 for the cleaning and all my needed antibiotics medication (3). That was a wayyyy better pricing. But it was just a little upsetting about my insurance info like would I have paid the $400 and would it have gone unnoticed..?!!! And the first time they explained the treatment they said around $4000 for everything, cleaning, medication, filling and whiting, she first front receptionist had mentioned to me they could all get it done today. But it’s disappointing to me, say I was to agree with completing all my treatment today…. Would I have been charged $4k and it goes unnoticed…. :( that was my con of this visit today. I do appreciate the treatment coordinator, Catrina, for checking the insurance.

Everyone was very accommodating. Although my appointment that I made through OpenCare was not showing up in the dentist office system, they fit me in and took great care of me.
