About
Dr. Patricia Khamis-Silva graduated from dental school in 1994 and worked as a dentist in São Paulo, Brazil, one of the most advanced dental markets in the world. During her first 10 years as a dentist, Dr. Patricia ran her own general family practice with a focus on cosmetic procedures. In parallel, she was also active at a local university as an assistant professor in the Prostodontics department. During this same time frame, Dr. Patricia studied TMJ disfunctions (Temporal Mandibular Joint), graduating from the prestigious São Paulo School of Medicine. In 2004 she immigrated to Canada and began to prepare for several dental exams to gain acceptance into a Canadian Dental school for the validation of her professional credentials. In parallel to preparing for the program, Dr. Patricia worked as a dental assistant to one of Toronto's leading Periodontists. In 2007 Dr. Patricia was accepted to the University of Western Ontario's, Schulich School of Dentistry - International Trained Dentists Program, successfully graduating in June 2009. On the completion of her academic obligations and dental degree, she worked as an associate in two dental locations in Toronto, while researching, planning and building By The Lake Dental in Ajax, ON.

Extremely clean and organized facility. I got x-rays and a cleaning done at this clinic. They sit and explain everything, every step of the way, which I liked. The overall environment was nice, they played light music in each section, which put me at ease. They check in with you as the appointment goes along, to ensure you are not feeling any discomfort. An extremely pleasant experience. I loved my results, teeth looked great. They had lots of new technology that made me feel engaged and helped me understand my dental needs. I don’t usually like going to the dentist but I felt very welcomed and taken care of, even with respect to my insurance and finances. Everyone is very warm and enthusiastic about making sure you know how to better care for your teeth and important steps to take going forward. Dr. Patricia Khamis-Silva was extremely professional, knowledgeable and offered sound advice. I got my cleaning done by Carrie and she was absolutely incredible, so friendly, knowledgeable and offered very specific actionable advice for me to take better care of my teeth. Summer, the patient concierge is also very professional and accomodating and down to earth in energy! The what to do and not what do with my teeth and offering advice. Likewise, Andrea, was great! Before she did my x-rays and 3D scans, she toured me around the clinic which was amazing - all up to date equipment, kids area, massage chairs in the waiting area, overall cozy. Liza, on the other hand, while cleaning my teeth, showed her care with the patients. I have bad social anxiety and this is by far the best establishment I have ever been to my anxieties any I did have were quickly gone they explain everything very well and take the time to make sure they know what you want and need and how to make your visit thorough .
