What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?
Dr. Rohrbaugh is a trauma specailist who provides psychotherapy for adults, specializing in survivors of trauma (e.g. domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse), gender issues, and alternative families. Dr. Rohrbaugh's forensic psychology work includes consultation, evaluation, and expert witness services. She specializes in child custody, parenting, and trauma (domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse).
What are you and your team proud of at your practice?
Dr. Rohrbaugh wrote one of the first books summarizing the research on gender development and gender differences (Women: Psychology's Puzzle. NY: Basic Books, 1979), and has provided extensive training about the practices of gender-sensitive therapy. Dr. Rohrbaugh wrote of the few interdisciplinary books on child custody: A Comprehensive Guide to Child Custody Evaluations: Mental Health and Legal Perspectives. NY: Springer, 1988.) She has provided training for judges, attorneys, and mental health professionals throughout the US. Dr. Rohrbaugh was on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School for over 30 years, where she supervised clinicians at MGH and the Victims of Violence and other outpatient programs at the Cambridge Health Alliance.
