What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?
I am limiting working with individuals and couples to clients I have seen in the past or who are referred by clients I have seen. I am primarily engaged in running groups from a gestalt perspective that meet on a monthly basis for a limited amount of months and training other therapists who are interested in learning Gestalt Theory and Practice. Please see www.gestaltpittsburgh.org.
What are you and your team proud of at your practice?
I am proud that I have worked for forty-five years in the field of psychology and am part of the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh which trains clinicians in our field. Our philosophy is non-pathologizing and we believe that people already have all that they need inside themselves to accomplish what will make their lives satisfying; that by becoming more aware of how they are feeling, and what they are doing and where they are interrupting themselves, they can make choices that work for them in their lives.
