What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?
I learned early on in my practice 23 years ago that each person is unique and has unique needs. My practice is based on gaining a deep understanding of the causes of illness, so that my treatments address causes, not just symptoms. It is possible, even in Integrative Medicine or Chinese Medicine or Ayurveda, to focus too much on alleviating symptoms, which is very very important, of course, but unless you address causes then diseases end up returning in different forms, just as weeds in an ill-tended garden do. I specialize in the use of Dry Needling and Myofascial Deep Tissue acupuncture for the treatment of Acute and Chronic Pain and Sport's Injuries, in the use of Classical Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, as well as Ayurveda in the treatment of Digestive disorders like GERD, Gastritis, Ulcerative Colitis and Diverticulitis, in the treatment of Dermatological disorders such as Acne, Eczema, and Psoriasis, and in Women's Health issues ranging from painful periods to menopause, including the use of acupuncture to promote labor and fertility.
What are you and your team proud of at your practice?
I have a beautiful quiet peaceful office and I see one person at a time, so when you see me my full attention is focused on you and your case. We know from science that when you multi-task you do not do either thing as well as when you do one thing at a time. So I really like treating one person at a time and I myself go to acupuncture with a friend or two that work the same way. I want to be treated like a human being by my doctor, not like a number or a file folder. I offer an array of service from Acupuncture, Moxabustion and Cupping, to Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine to Ayurvedic Diet and Lifestyle Coaching along with Ayurvedic herbal medicine. Welcome!
