Dr. Brian M. Welle, DDS

Dr. Welle is originally from Mahtomedi. He grew up in Lake Elmo and attended school in Mahtomedi where he graduated from Mahtomedi High School in 1999. He furthered his undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota Morris with a B.A., Majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. After 4 years of undergrad he attended the University of Minnesota Dental School and graduated in 2007 where he received his Docturate of Dental Surgery degree. He was also recognized for his outstanding ability in Emergency Endodontics (root canals). In the summer of 2007 Dr. Welle was 1 of 5 in the U.S. chosen for a general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center where he gained further experience. After a year in his residency Dr. Welle accepted an associateship in New Hope where he has practiced for the past 5 years.

What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?

Our dentist primarily uses tooth-colored composite material by 3M on both anterior and posterior teeth. This material provides a lasting immediate restoration of your tooth. From fine cracks to broken teeth, crowns are the recommended restoration. Our clinic uses CEREC dental technology to mill crowns for same day visits. The materials used for the fabrication are dictated by aesthetics and durability. Implants are becoming more commonplace as a possible alternative to bridgework and partial dentures. At Mahtomedi Family Dental we place implants at our clinic for missing teeth or recent extracted teeth. After consulting with our dentists, the implant will be placed and after the healing process a permanent implant crown will be placed with our CEREC crown milling technology. Endodontic treatment or Root canal treatment is a service offered in or clinic. Treatment options are decided between patient and dentist. Need a tooth extracted? Dr. Welle and Dr Sorenson are trained to extract all types of teeth including wisdom teeth. Our dentists will decide with you how to proceed with your extraction. A whiter smile can be yours with a simple 15 minute visit. We recommend and provide the Opalescence whitening system, a reusable set of custom made whitening trays or Opalescence GO disposable trays.
