About

Dr. Timothy Lee graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1995. He is licensed with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Dr. Lee currently practices modern dentistry with a personal touch. It is his belief that good dentistry is best performed when considering the wishes of patients. A lot of time is spent discussing treatment options and approaches before work is initiated. The added benefit is that patient ‘comfort concerns’ are revealed beforehand. These factors all come together to make for a comfortable patient experience.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

One of life’s special relationships. It’s something that we take seriously at Streetsville Dental. Here we think long-term, since our patients continue to see us for life-times. We build relationships based on trust, and developed with reliable information and sincere treatment advice.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

With over 20 years experience, Dr. Lee specializes in a variety of treatments, however his top three are: Invisalign® TMJ & Bruxism Comprehensive dental health care As well as being an experienced dentist, Dr. Lee has a degree in physiotherapy. With this unique qualification, Dr. Lee has developed a special interest in jaw (“TMJ”) disorders. He is also qualified to administer Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) to provide a more comfortable experience for children and anxious individuals.

What are you proud of in your practice?

Recently Dr. Lee was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy, for contributions to the art and science of Dentistry. This prestigious international organization was founded in 1936 and aims to advance the profession of dentistry as well as improve dental health worldwide. Dr. Lee also received the Community Service Recognition Award from the Ontario Dental Association, for his work in developing countries with the non-profit organization Health Outreach. Dr. Lee believes in supporting and giving back to the community of Streetsville. Streetsville Dental continues to provide a Children’s Dental Orientation Program for area preschools. This helps small children overcome any worries about first-time dental visits. He also supports various Rotary Clubs in Mississauga. In 2009, he was received the Paul Harris Award which recognizes individuals who meet high professional and personal standards.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

There are many benefits of having healthy teeth and proper jaw alignment. Crooked and crowded teeth are hard to clean and maintain. This can result in tooth decay, worsen gum disease and lead to tooth loss. Other orthodontic problems can contribute to abnormal wear of tooth surfaces, inefficient chewing function, excessive stress on gum tissue and the bone that supports the teeth, or misalignment of the jaw joints. These can lead to chronic headaches and face or neck pain. Orthodontic treatment can be less costly than the additional care required to treat dental problems arising as a result of orthodontic problems. For most people, a beautiful smile is the most obvious benefit of orthodontics. After your braces come off, you’ll feel more confident about your smile and your overall dental health.
