Amara is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario's Masters of Physical Therapy program. She has had the opportunity to work with patients with a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. Amara works in the clinic and home visits patients at home. Her caseload allows her to provide quality care to patients with Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord injury, as well as geriatrics. She also works with the orthopedic population at both the Woodroffe and Wellington locations. Additional professional training includes soft tissue release techniques, acupuncture, manual therapy level 1 and LSVT BIG. She has also attended workshops about the assessment and treatment of stroke patients. Her goal as a physiotherapist is to help individuals regain confidence in their abilities and ultimately improve their quality of life. She is also dedicated to provide compassionate patient-centered care. Amara is fluent in both French and English. On her spare time, Amara likes to play volleyball and enjoys arts and crafts.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
LSVT BIG is a set program of exercises and functional task to assist patients with Parkinson's disease. It consists of increased amplitude of limb and body movement (Bigness). Studies have showed improvements in amplitude that generalized to improved speed (upper/lower limbs), balance, and quality of life. Training with intensity and various facilitation techniques (handling and cueing) to help promote normal and functional movement Acupuncture to help the process of healing.

I enjoy helping patients reach their goals, and improving their quality of life
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I like treating patient with neurological conditions such as strokes, Parkinson's disease, MS, brain injuries as it has always been a passion of mine to help these individuals live a good and functional life. I also like to work with seniors to help them stay functional and live as independently as possible.
