Karyn graduated in 2001 from the Massage Therapy program at Algonquin College and continues to teach in the program. Karyn has taken further training in myofascial release techniques, manual lymph drainage techniques, and over 10 different courses relating to pregnancy massage. She has done specific work with pregnant moms in labour to help relieve pain and discomfort. She has completed her training as a doula and has been honoured to have been asked to attend several births. Karyn’s focus is in pre and post natal massage and women’s health. She is quite experienced in Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage techniques, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, stretching and strengthening, hot stone therapy, self-care programs and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). She also uses massage to help manage fibromyalgia, alleviate headaches and encourage recovery from injury. She likes to encourage clients to be pro-active in promoting their own health and well-being. She enjoys working one-on-one with clients to provide customized care that fits their lifestyle.
